The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently going to the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render companies to the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency explained it is actually alarmed with regards to the large number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a substantial number of clients/beneficiaries to access sassa status SASSA services.

“This is often a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no totally functional office committed to service the area on a daily basis. The support issue produced for intervention activities a superior influx of prospective beneficiaries, that makes it tricky for the office to attend to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra resources to allow the servicing of all buyers and maximize usage of Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
